Cameron writes to Rogers to acknowledge Rogers's former advice to seek information on the gold and mineral yields for BC in parliamentary papers, but points out the absence of printed information on gold and minerals for 1860.
The minutes ask that Cameron be informed that there is “no despatch from the [Govenor] of British Columbia giving a Return of the Yield of Gold for 1860,” there is a report from the “Assay Office.”
The file includes a draft letter from Rogers to Cameron, which states that no return on gold dust had been received for 1860, but that 1800 ounces of gold dust was received in the assay office for August.

I have had the honour to receive your letter of the 22nd inst. informing me, in answer to mine, that all information regarding the gold produce and minerals of British Columbia was to be found in the paper presented to Parliament. I have to thank you for this, and at the same time beg leave to mention that there are no returns for the year 1860 in print.
May I pray the favor of being informed of the yield of gold for that year?

There is no despatch from the Govr of British Columbia giving a Return of the Yield of Gold for 1860, but the annexed Despatch gives the quantity of Gold dust received at the Assay Office during the Month of Augt last. This despatch has not yet been printed.
