I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Mr Elliott's letter of the 30th Ultimo, transmitting a copy of a Report received from Governor Douglas on the subject of the complaints made by this Company on the operation of the Proclamation issued by him for collecting the duties on Imports into British Columbia.
I feel much obliged to your Grace for the trouble which you have been good enough to take in this matter, and I shall lose no time in forwarding the Report to the representatives of the Company in Vancouvers Island from whom the complaint emanated.
