I am directed by the Lords of the Committee of Privy Council for Trade to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 19th Instant transmitting, by the direction of the Duke of Newcastle, a Copy of a Proclamation issued by the Governor of British Columbia (No 23) "Customs Act Amendment 1860," and requesting their Lordships' opinion whether this Proclamation may properly be allowed; and I am to request that you will state to the Duke of Newcastle that My Lords see no objection to the Proclamation.
