Hamilton writes to Rogers to report that the “Paymaster General” has been authorized to pay “Naval Services” £5,294.3.5 for stores supplied by the Admiralty to the Royal Engineers in BC for 1859.
The minutes ask that the Admiralty be advised of the payment reported in Hamilton's letter.

In reply to Mr Elliot's letter of the 6th Instant, I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you that the Paymaster General has been authorized to pay to Naval Services the sum of £5,294.3.5 in repayment of the value of Stores supplied by the Admiralty in 1859 for the use of the Royal Engineers in British Columbia.
