I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you that the Paymaster General has been authorized to accept and pay a Bill drawn by Mr J. Douglas for the sum of £900 being the amount of Salary due to him as Governor of British Columbia for the 1/2 year ended 31 Decr 1860.

The payment of the Bill is a sufficient ackt, I think, without telling the Govr that it will be paid. If there is any difficulty about a Bill then of course we must write.
