Hamilton writes to Rogers, on behalf of the Treasury, to report that the “Paymaster General” has been authorized to pay Moody's salary of £300 for the quarter to 30 June, 1861, for his work as “commissioner of Lands and Works in British Columbia.”

In reply to your letter of the 7th instant, I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you that the Paymaster General has been authorized to pay to Messrs. Cox & Co on account of Colonel Moody, R.E. the sum of £300, being his Salary for Quarter ended 30 June, 1861, as commissioner of Lands and Works in British Columbia.
