With reference to Mr Elliot's letter of 24th inst. I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you that the Paymaster General has been authorized to pay to Messrs. Cox and Co on behalf of Col. Moody, the sum of £300, as Salary as Chief Commissioner of Lands and Works in British Columbia for Quarter to 31 March last, at the rate of £1,200 per annum.
