No. 115
16 April 1862
With reference to your despatches No. 80 and 82 of the 29th and 31st of December last I have the honour to acquaint you that I have authorized the Colonial Agents General to give to Mr. Nind the Stipendiary Magistrate and assistant gold Commissioner for British Columbia the half salary to which he may be entitled during the period of his leave of absence and I have to request that you will remit to them without delay a sum sufficient to meet their payments. I take this opportunity of imposing upon you the necessity which exists for keeping the Agents General supplied with funds for the Services which may from time to time be required in this country for British Columbia. You should remit such a sum as to give them a moderate balance in hand to meet accruing demands.
I have the honor to be
Sir
Your obedient Servant
