We have the honor to enclose a life certificate from Colonel R.C. Moody R.E., dated 1st January last, and to request that the usual document may be sent to us, enabling us to claim that Officer's salary, December quarter 1862, as Chief Commissioner of Lands &c in British Columbia.

Elliot to G.A. Hamilton, Treasury, 29 April 1863, asking them to authorize the paymaster general to issue Moody's salary to Cox and Company, and enclosing his life certificate.

It appears from a letter from Mr Buckland that Messrs Cox & Co
are unable to get Col: Moody's salary on the authority of the certificate wh we sent them on the 11th of March and that this letter is necessary.
