My Lord Duke,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Grace's Circular Despatch of the 15th January last, announcing the pleasing intelligence, that Her RoyalHighnessManuscript image Highness the Princess of Wales, had been safely delivered of a Prince, and that up to the date of your Grace's Despatch Her Royal Highness and the Infant Prince continued to do well.
I need hardly assure your Grace that the announcement of this auspicious event was received by all classes of Her Majesty'ssubjectsManuscript image subjects in this Colony, with the most gratifying demonstrations of joy and loyalty, and I beg leave, on their behalf, to offer our sincere and heartfelt congratulations to Her Majesty the Queen, and to their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Wales, and to renew on this happy occasiontheManuscript image the expression of our firm and devoted attachment to Her Majestys Throne, Person and Family.
