I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to send you, herewith, for the information of Mr Secretary Cardwell, an extract from a Letter of the 4th Ultimo, No 67, from Vice Admiral Kingcome, reporting an unsuccessful attempt having been made by the Gun Boat "Forward," in conjunction with Governor Seymour, to discover the Murderers of 24 Men employed in making a Road fromBute InletManuscript image Bute Inlet and the North Bentinck Arm, to Cariboo.
