Sir,
I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to send you, herewith, for the information of Mr Secretary Cardwell, and with reference to My Letter of the 30th Ultimo, a Copy of a Letter of the 14th June, No 68, from Vice Admiral Kingcome, enclosing a Copy of a Letter of the 1st June, from His Excellency, Mr Seymour, Governor ofBritishManuscript image British Columbia, respecting the Massacre of White Men who were working on the Road from Bute Inlet to Cariboo, and reporting the arrangements made by the Governor and himself for the Capture of the Murderers.
I am further to acquaint you that in a subsequent Letter of the 15th June, No 69, Vice Admiral KingcomereportsManuscript image reports the arrival of Mr Seymour and his party of Volunteers at Esquimalt, for the expedition to North Bentinck Arm, and that he himself would proceed in the "Sutlej" on that day to the same place.
