With reference to my despatch No. 71 of the 25th of November 1864, forwarding a Report furnished to me by the Colonial Secretary of his visit to the Kootenay Gold Mines. I have now the honor to forwardcopyManuscript image copy of the Code of Laws drawn up by the Miners, and which were in operation on the Creek previous to the arrival of the English Magistrate, Mr Haynes.

Sir F. Rogers may perhaps like to see this code of the Miners. It seems very simple & well arranged. I presume that the arrival of the Magistrate has in part superceded it.
