In reference to your letter of 15th Instant, I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you for the information of Mr Secretary Cardwell, that forty nine pounds, seven shillings (£49.7.0) are due to the Commander of H.M.S. "Devastation" for the entertainment of the Bishop of "Columbia" when proceeding from Esquimalt to Fort Simpson, and the North East Coast of British Columbia, and back to Esquimalt, and I am to request that you will move Mr Cardwell to cause that amount to be transferred to Naval Funds in the hands of the PaymasterManuscript image General—the passage occupied the period from 29th March to 1st May/63.
