I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 72 of the 26th of November, and to approve the appointment of Mr. William George Cox to be Police Magistrate and Assistant Gold Commissioner at the Kootenay Gold Mines.
The increase of thesalariesManuscript image salaries of the Assistant Gold Commissioners in substitution of their present allowances, which it is your intention to propose to the Council, appears, so far as I am able to judge, to be a judicious measure.
