I am directed by Mr. Secretary Cardwell to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 1st Instant, enclosing a copy of an Address presented to you upon your departure from BritishManuscript image Columbia by a deputation headed by the Chairman of the Municipal Council of New Westminster, together with a copy of your reply.
