Sir,
I have the honor to instruct you that, as the Queen's sanction to the Ordinance for increasing the Governor's Salary has been proclaimed, you may authorise the payment to Governor Seymour's Attorney, Mr. D.M.LangManuscript image Lang Lang, Manager of the Bank of British Columbia at Victoria, of the difference between the old and new Salary from the 11th of April 1865, on which day the Ordinance passed, to the 31st of August 1865, being the day on which Governor Seymour ceased to draw Salary in the Colony in consequence of his departure for England. Mr. Seymour has expressed to me his wish that this payment be made in the manner I haveaboveManuscript image above directed.
