My Lord,
I have the honor to forward an Authenticated and two plain Copies of an Ordinance of the recent Session of the Legislature of this Colony, entitled; No. 5 An OrdinancetoManuscript image to prevent the violation of Indian Graves.
2. This simply extends a beneficial measure introduced by me on the Mainland in 1865, over the United Colony.
3. I append the report of the Attorney General.

Sanction the Ordinance. The difference bet: this Ordinance & the Orde No 19 of 1865 is that "100 dollars" is substituted for "One Hundred Pounds"—(a considerable, but reasonable reduction) and "6 months" is inserted for "12 months" in Sect. 4.
