My Lord,
With reference to my despatch No. 58 of the 6th April
I have now the honor to transmit a certificate shewing that
I have given Mr Alexander Watson six month's leave of absence.

2. Mr Watson was Treasurer of Vancouver Island. His
Office was abolished on the Proclamation uniting the Colonies.
This leave of absence on full pay and the payment of passage
for himself and family are intended as compensation for the loss
of office Mr Watson has sustained.
