With reference to your Letters of the 25th Inst, enclosing a Despatch to be transmitted to the Officer Administering the Government of British Columbia, by the first Officer of Her Majesty's Naval Service proceeding to that Colony, I am Commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you for the informationofManuscript image of His Grace the Duke of Buckingham and Chandos that there is no officer under Orders to proceed to British Columbia or Vancouver.
The Despatch is herewith enclosed.
