I am directed by Lord Stanley to transmit to you for the information of His Grace The Duke of Buckingham and Chandos copies of two despatches from Her Majesty's Chargé d'Affaires at Washington, the one relative to a resolution introduced into The House of Representatives in that city, condemnatory of any further purchase of territory by the UnitedStatesManuscript image States, and the other announcing the introduction of a resolution in the same House in favour of the purchase of British Columbia and Vancouvers Island.
