Sir,
Referring to Governor Seymour's despatch to me dated the 30th March 1867, copy of which was enclosed in my letter to His Grace the Secretary of State on the 16th of July last, offering me, inter alia, six months leave on Full Pay; and to the circumstance of my having drawn, up to the present time, only two-thirds of the pay assigned toManuscript image my late office of Colonial Treasurer of Vancouver Island by the Secretary of State, I have the honor to request that the Crown Agents may be instructed to honor my draft for the balance, namely, one hundred pounds, being the difference betwixt £600 and £400 per annum for Six months ending 31st October 1867, which I shall present at the office of The Crown Agents on the 1st proximo.
