Sir,
With reference to Governor Kennedy's Despatches No. 25 of the 26th March 1866 and No. 32 of the 25th May 1865, I have the honor to transmit to you a Copy of a letter from the Board of Trade enclosingaManuscript image a statement of expenses amounting to £212.16.10 incurred by that Department for Stores required for the Lighthouses in Vancouver Island.
I enclose a copy of a further letter from the Board of Trade pointing out that it was urgent to receive payment of this money before the close of the present financial year.
I have therefore authorized the Crown Agents to make thepaymentManuscript image payment, charging the same to the account of Van Couver Island.
