I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 99
of the
4th September, reporting upon the position of affairs at
Cariboo.
I have to convey to you my general approval of the course which you have
adopted and to express my regret that matters should still continue in
such
such an unsatisfactory state in that district.
The correspondence between yourself and the Admiral which was
enclosed in your Despatch has been communicated to the Lords
Commissioners of the Admiralty.
