I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 99 of the 4th September, reporting upon the position of affairs at Cariboo. I have to convey to you my general approval of the course which you have adopted and to express my regret that matters should still continue insuchManuscript image such an unsatisfactory state in that district.
The correspondence between yourself and the Admiral which was enclosed in your Despatch has been communicated to the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty.
