My Lord Duke,
I have had the honor to receive Your Grace's Separate despatch of the 27th March, directing me to send Home the Public Seal of the late Colony of Vancouver Island.
2. Your Grace wishestheManuscript image the Seal to be returned by hand through some officer of Her Majesty's Navy or through some other secure channel.
3. On the receipt of Your Grace's despatch I placed myself in communicaton with Rear Admiral Hastings, and he has engaged that Commander Denny of Her Majesty's ship "Forward," who returns to England on promotion, shall take charge of the Seal and deliver it personallyinManuscript image in Downing Street.
