My Lord Duke,
With reference to My despatch No. 53 of 1st June, I have the honor to state that I have this day handed over the Public SealofManuscript image of Vancouver Island to Rear Admiral Hastings. The Seal will I believe be conveyed to the Colonial Office by Commander Denny late of Her Majesty's ship "Forward".
