Sir,
I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acknowledge the receipt of your Letter of the 27th Ultimo transmitting the Copy of a Despatch from Governor Seymour respecting the construction of a Dock in British Columbia.
In reply I am commanded by my Lords to transmit to you for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies the Copy of a report from the Hydrographer on this subject and I am to request you willinformManuscript image inform the Duke of Buckingham that my Lords entirely concur in the Hydrographers views of the advantages of Esquimalt Harbour over Burrard Inlet.
