I saw Mr Lowe on the subject of the British Columbia Loans this morning & he was of opinion that as the £3,000 had been received the C.O. should withdraw their letter to Treasury.

Either withdraw, or with a letter to say that this 3000£ has come in & that their Lps need not trouble themselves to consider our letter.
As Mr Lowe suggests withdraw perhaps the best way will be that I shd write to Mr Hamilton asking for the letter back.
Then we will press the Govt of B.C. as to Sinking Fund.

I have initialed the drafts, but I should have thought it would be right to allude in both of them, to the fact that the Crown Agents will be overdrawn 100£ on the Interest account.

This £3000 & the £1110 the Agents have in hand will not quite cover what is due for interest of £4200.
