I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 166 of the 31st December reporting that you have conferred the title of Assistant Colonial Secretary upon Mr. Charles Good.
I observe that youadvertManuscript image advert to the convenience of there being some Officer of sufficient rank to sign letters for the interior of the Colony during the frequent absences of Mr. Young, but I should be glad to receive from you some further explanation as to the cause of those frequent absences on the part of the Colonial Secretary.
