Sir,
I have to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch of the 18th March last, No. 21, in which, acting on the advice of your Executive Council, you recommend that Ordinance No. 10, of 1866, conferring certain privileges on the Williams Creek, Bed RockFlumeManuscript image Flume company, should be left to its operation.
As I infer therefore that the Ordinance has been in force for two years without inconvenience or complaint, I have to convey to you Her Majesty's Gracious Confirmation and allowance of it.
I must however observe that your report on the Ordinance need not have been delayed for so long a time.
