I have the honor to transmit to you for your information a copy of a letter which has been addressed to me by Mr. J. Scott Tucker, on behalf of the British Columbia Graving Dock Company, representing the desirability of constructing aHydraulicManuscript image Hydraulic Lift at Vancouver's Island and enquiring what aid Her Majesty's government would be disposed to grant towards the completion of such an undertaking together with a copy of the answer which has been returned to Mr. Tucker by my direction.
I also transmit copies of a Correspondence with the Admiralty on the subject.
