I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to transmit herewith, for the information of Earl Granville, copy of a letter they have addressed to Rear Adml The Honble G. Hastings, desiring him to make Valparaiso his future Head Quarters as Naval Commander in Chief in the Pacific, but to keep some of the ships under hisOrdersManuscript image Orders in the neighbourhood of British Columbia.
