I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your Letter of the 14th Inst. transmitting an Extract of a despatch from the Governor of British Columbia, and a Copy of a report by Mr Young the Acting Colonial Secretary in reply to Mr Lowenberg's statement—that the local Government would continue to dispute his title to a piece of land in Victoria known as lot Z.
In requesting youwillManuscript image will convey to Earl Granville the thanks of the Committee of the Hudson's Bay Company for these communications, I have to express their satisfaction to find that the matter in dispute, which involved much Correspondence, has been finally settled.
