James Reed Macadam, now a candidate for the situation of Writer
at Liverpool in the Department of Her Majesty's Customs, having
stated that he was employed as Warder and Gaoler in
Vancouver's
Island from April 1864 to November 1867, and that he received no
Discharge on leaving the Colonial Convict Service.
I am directed by the Civil Service Commissioners to request that
you will favor them by informing me whether his character was in
all respects satisfactory during the period of his Service and
whether his health was good.
