No. 36
22nd April 1870
My Lord,
I have the honor to forward to Your Lordship a Copy of a Resolution transmitted to me by the Legislative Council respecting the Island of San Juan.
2. I cannot add anything to the knowledge which Your Lordship already possesses with regard to the disputed possessionofManuscript image of this Island. Intrinsically it is worth little to anyone; but to the United States it is valueless, except for a purpose hostile to British Columbia as the means of almost completely controlling the navigation of the Straits of San Juan and the Gulf of Georgia, to, and from, the Fraser River.
I have the honor to be,
My Lord,
Your most obedient
humble Servant
A. Musgrave
