June Quarter of Revenue.
Be good enough to look how this is with the corresponding Quarter of 1869.

The revenue shews a falling off of $12,000. A decrease of $11,000 under the head of Customs accounts for most of this. Land sales shew an increase of $2,000. The road tax yields $4,000. But most items shew an unimportant decrease.
The Expenditure shews a decrease of $22,000. Establishments shew a decrease of $5,000. Pensions, a decrease of $3,000. Docks and Buildings a slight decrease. Roads & Bridges an increase of $5,000. Nothing else important.
The balances on the 30th June/69 were $19,000—on the 30th June/70 $13,000.

I believe we have not authorisedtheManuscript image the discontinuance of quarterly financial returns.
Which is the Regulation in obedience to which they have hitherto been sent?

1. No Authority has been given in the corresponsence on Accounts for the Discontinuance of these Financial Returns.
2. The Returns have evidently been sent in pursuance of Articles 232 et seqq of the Colonial Regulations.

At once.
