                     The

revenue shews a falling off of $12,000. A decrease of $11,000 under
the head of Customs accounts for most of this. Land sales shew an
increase of $2,000. The road tax yields $4,000. But most items
                     shew an unimportant decrease.

shews a decrease of $22,000. Establishments shew a decrease of
$5,000. Pensions, a decrease of $3,000. Docks and Buildings a
slight decrease. Roads & Bridges an increase of $5,000.
                     Nothing else important.

The balances on the 30th June/69 were $19,000—on the 30th

Draft at once saying that the Circular of Aug 16th to which
he refers does not authorise the discontinuance of these Returns
which must therefore be forwarded as heretofore.

When done, please let me have this paper again.
