Sir,
I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to transmit to you, herewith, for the information of the Secretary of State with reference to your letter of the 28th April last transmitting an account of the Expenditure up to the 31st December 1868 for services in connection with the Military occupation of San Juan, the accompanying copy of a letter from the Admiralty dated the 14th instt as to the expenses of the Detachment of Royal Marines at San Juan since that date, and I am to request that the Governor of British Columbia may be instructed to forward as soon as possible the statement of expenditure for this service for the Quarter ended 31st March 1869, if it has not been already received, andto transmitManuscript image to transmit for the future the accounts for this Service within the period specified by the Admiralty.
