Sir,
I transmit to you for your information and guidance and with reference to your Despatch No. 43 of the 30th December a copy of a letter from the General Post Office embodying the decision of the United States Post MasterGeneralManuscript image General in regard to the exchange of Mails between that country and the [Colony] of British Columbia.
I have to instruct you to fix the 1st of July for carrying the arrangements which have been fix[ed] upon into operation.
