In reply to your Despatch No. 95 of the 28th July, relative to the reward granted by the United States of America to Samuel Harris as compensation for injuries sustained in the Panama Riots 1856, I have the honor to inform you that a letter has been received from the Foreign OfficestatingManuscript image stating that the Paymaster General has been instructed to transfer the sum of £175.15.7 to the credit of British Columbia with the Crown Agents for the Colonies.
You have my authority for paying this sum out of the local Treasury to Mr. Harris.
