My Lord,
We were honored with your Lordships command contained in Mr Hawe's letter of the 30th Ultimo in which he stated that he was directed by your Lordship to transmit to us drafts of a Commission and Instructions which it is proposed to issue to Richard Blanshard Esquire whom The Queen has been pleased to appoint to be Governor and Commander in Chief in and over the Island ofManuscript image of Vancouver and its Dependencies; and he was to request that we would take these Instructions into our consideration and report to your Lordship whether we saw any objection to them in point of law.
In obedience to your Lordship's command we have taken the Instructions into our consideration and have the honor to report that in our opinion the same are free from objection
We have etc

Was there not some opinion on which the Act 12 & 13 Vict c. 48 (in the year 1849) enabling the Crown to constitute Courts of justice in Vanc. I. was printed?
