We were honored with your Lordships command contained in
Mr
Hawe's letter of the
30th Ultimo in which he stated that he was
directed by your Lordship to transmit to us drafts of a Commission and
Instructions which it is proposed to issue to
Richard Blanshard Esquire whom
The Queen has been pleased to appoint to be Governor and Commander
in Chief in and over
the Island of of Vancouver and its Dependencies; and he was to request that we would take these Instructions
into our
consideration and report to your Lordship whether we saw any objection
to them in point of law.
In obedience to your Lordship's command we have taken the
Instructions into our consideration and have the honor to report that in
our opinion the same are free from objection
