Despatch from London.
Grey writes Blanshard to notify him of the transmission of the “Public Seal of the Island of Vancouver and its Dependencies,” and a related manual of use.

Sir,
I have the honor to transmit to you herewith the Public Seal of the Island of Vancouver and its Dependencies. I also transmit to you a Warrant under Her Majesty's Sign Manual, authorising and directing you to usethisManuscript image this Seal in the sealing of all Public Instruments which shall be issued in Her Majesty's name within that Island and its Dependencies.
