I am directed by The Earl of Clarendon to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 23d Instant, enclosing copies of a correspondence received from the Lieut. Governor of Vancouver's Island on the subject of the plunder and destruction of the American Vessel "Susan Sturges" by a party of the Natives of Queen Charlotte's Island, and I am to request thatyouManuscript image you will state to His Grace the Duke of Newcastle that Lord Clarendon entirely approves the measures taken by the Lieut. Governor with reference to that affair.
