Despatch from London. Enclosures (untranscribed) (1).
Newcastle writes to Douglas to acknowledge Douglas’s earlier request for books pertaining to the duties of governance; Newcastle states that he will transmit a selection of “legal works,” which he encloses in the despatch.
This file encloses a number of works that pertain to the legalities of colonial governance, which, among others, include Tomlins Law Dictionary, Clark's Colonial Law, Regulations of the Vice Admiralty Courts Abroad, and more.
