Newcastle writes to Douglas to report that the Admiralty has apprised Newcastle of Admiral Morseby’s intention to send two ships of war to Vancouver Island.

With reference to my Despatch No. 2, of the 10th Ultimo, I have to acquaint you that the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty have apprized me that Rear Admiral Moresby has intimated his intention of sending two Ships of War to Van Couvers Island.
