I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt on the 16th April last, of your Despatch No 2 of the 10th February 1853. [Marginal note: Sent 20 Feb/53. [ABd]]
I observe with much satisfaction that the appointment of Mr Sangster to the Office of Collector of Customs, has met with your approval, and that Your Grace has communicated with the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty relative to the discovery of Coal on Vancouver's Island, and also called the attention of the Hudson's Bay Company to the necessity of making effectualprovisionManuscript image provision for the moral and religious instruction of the inhabitants of this Colony.
