Having laid before the Duke of Newcastle your Letters of the 15 instant with the despatches enclosed from the Governor of Vancouvers Island (Nos 36 & 37 of the 29th Septr) I am directed to request that you will acquaint Secretary Sir George Grey that his Grace does not perceive that any steps require to be taken thereupon.
