Grey writes to Douglas to acknowledge Douglas’s previous despatch, which reports on the resolution of the disagreement between Douglas and Cooper.

I have to acknowledge your Despatch No 13 of the 11th May last relative to the representation which Mr Cooper addressed to Sir John Pakington on the 8th October 1852; and I have to express my satisfaction that the difference which had arisen between yourselfandManuscript image and Mr Cooper appears to have been removed.
